I, Robot

Good film - not earth-shattering but definately watchable! I saw it last Saturday, the trouble is I have also read most of Asimov's fiction so I spent a large part of the movie trying to figure out what part came from which story. That did not work too well as I started reading him many (well a few) years ago in my early teens (from about 12 to now although it has been a while since I picked up one of his books). I can remember the stories and characters but not the titles. The first book of his I can remember had a robot sleeping on a beach on the cover, I don't know why that memory sticks in my mind, that evening my mom and dad were going out to do whatever parents go out to do - I was at an age where I was not too curious as to what my parents did when they went out.

I also had fun spotting the product placements - JVC, Audi, US Robotics (I thought they made modems and computer stuff - it seems that in the future they will make robots), I could not see what make of motorcycle Will Smith was riding. There may have been others but in the end I just settled back to enjoy the show. One thing did puzzle me though - all the old stuff was in remarkably good condition although that can be explained away by the fact that collectors can be anal retentive about condition.

When WS went to visit his granny it reminded me of the Matrix when they all trooped off to visit the Oracle.

Fun film go and see it! Tell them that Matthew sent you and they will go "Who? Who is this Matthew person?"
